STEMpura CIC is the new UK delivery partner for WRO

STEMpura CIC is a community interest company that has been set up to take on the running of World Robot Olympiad in the UK. STEMpura has been set up by Gareth James and Chazia Cassamo. Gareth has many years of experience running STEM enhancement and enrichment projects in the UK and overseas. Specifically he took on FIRST LEGO League for the .UK and Ireland when he ran the education programmes at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and he spent a couple of years as part of the World Robot Olympiad Association team, managing the partnerships and developing new projects, including WRO LEARN. Chazia has worked within the technology sector where she has mentored women in STEM and co-chaired the Motorola Women’s Business Council. Gareth says: “I have seen the impact that WRO has on the lives of the young people who take part and how it can not only help to inspire them into STEM courses and careers but how it also helps to develop the skill sets that make them genuinely appealing to employers. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to take on WRO and to use it as a tool to catalyse the resources of the UK technology and engineering community to support young people to fulfil their potential.”
